James seeks to support a number of local charities through individual concert work and through his membership of a multi-instrumental quartet “4 Play”.
Charitable events have included concerts for Leonard Cheshire Homes, DEC Appeal, Leukemia Trust, British Heart Foundation and others. He also runs a dixieland band and a Bavarian Oom Pah band, both of which are available for charitable functions.
His second solo CD entitled “In All Directions” features him playing many instruments ranging from clarinet to bass sax and also including brass and drums. One of the tracks featured on BBC Radio 2 and proceeds from the sale of this CD went to St Mark’s Church in Hitchin.
James supports less experienced musicians within his local area and church in Hitchin, where he lives with his wife and family.
